On this episode of AMC Mail Bag we take the following viewer emails:
David Finnegan writes: Hello AMC Crew! While I agree with the Animation Tournament list for the most part… Can you please explain why Transformers was left off the list? Spoiler Alert, Optimus dying was one of the most traumatic memories of my youth and is still engrained in my psyche! Oh and the music in the movie, just awesome! You guys are great, keep bringing the filthy!
Leigh Gallear writes: Hi amc great show love it! Due to Disney making live action Disney films what studio ghibli film would you like to see become a live action film and also what is your favourite one.
Emily Rosas writes: Hey guys, I love the show and watch it every day. I was wondering how would you feel if Marvel did prequels such as a Black Widow/ Natasha Romanoff movie where we learn her past, a Nick Fury movie, an Odin movie to learn more of Asgard, or possibly a creation of S.H.I.E.L.D. I think they would be pretty cool. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Robert Miller writes: Hello AMC Movie Crew. Congrats on Phase 3. Here something I’d like you to just have a little fun with I don’t think it would ever happen. If I’m not mistaken Austin Powers is a parody of James Bond. So why not make new movies without Mike Myers? Bring in some other comedic actors and have them give their own spin on the character. Thoughts?
Dingle Hopper writes: Hi AMC crew love the show. My question is about the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio movie called The Crowded Room. It's supposedly about a man who had multiple personality disorder with 24 different ones in his head who committed multiple crimes in his life time. With Leo having to take on at least 24 of these personalities in the movie I feel like this could be his best performance yet and could definitely be Oscar nominated and hopefully winning. I'm a huge Leo fan and I feel it's about time he won. Your thoughts?
Pete Galula writes: Hi guys. Love your show! The song 'Beauty and the Beast' by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson was truly magical which really helped make the original animated film timeless . Now do you mind if that same song will be played again in the upcoming live action version? And do you prefer Celine Dion again or somebody else?
Sarah Conrad writes: Hello AMC crew! love the show. My question is what criteria are film makers looking for when turning a cartoon show into a feature film? I can see how some have potential (eg Transformers) but others not so much (eg the Smurfs) and what cartoon show do you like to see on the big screen? Personally I'd love to see Disney's Gargoyles Thanks!
Arick Narvaez writes: I watch you every day and I am loving all the new shows. My question is about who we may see die in the new "Avengers: Age of Ultron." You talk about the fact that we may lose one of the Avengers because Whedon likes to kill off important characters in order to raise the stakes. I can see a way that an important hero could die while we still keep all of the original Avengers. War Machine, or James Rhodes, is shown in the first trailer trying to pick up Thors' hammer, right before Ultron makes his first appearance. What if he is the character that is sacrificed and he is attacked at that moment by Ultron, therefore raising the stakes for the Avengers while making Stark realize that he has really messed up, causing the death of his friend? Do you think Rhodey could die?
