YouTube in crisis: If you love YouTube like we do here at Waysandhow, this breaking news should affect you also. YouTube has lost more than 30 top advertisers in the last 30 days, and that has drastically affected all YouTube creators. Some have lost more than 50% of their monthly revenue, and others more than 80% of their revenue from YouTube are gone. YouTube is not the bad guy here, from what we understand, it is doing its best to make sure that we the creators, and viewers alike have this wonderful platform where creators can create and you the audiences can enjoy the videos that you love.
There is news out there that Wall Street Journal is the instigator, and the one who is contacting some advertisers to leave YouTube, claiming that some YouTube videos have hate crime rhetoric, and other offensive materials where their ads are running. Here at Waysandhow, we do not have any issues with advertisers pulling their ads if the allegations were true, however, from what’s been reported, it is all made up, not true. (Names of some of the advertiser will be listed at the bottom of the video.)
This may not seem like a big deal to many people who love YouTube videos, but it does, because with time, most of your favorite YouTube Creators will not be creating videos because they could not afford to continue creating the videos that you love. Waysandhow is in that category of creators who may not continue if the revenue continues to disappear as it has in the last 30 days.
