Windows of social justice and quest for Women Rights: Asim Sarode at TEDxPune

Pride of the Indian Legal Profession - Today, Adv. Asim Sarode is a household name in the Human Rights field in India. An expert in Criminal, Family, Environmental and Human Rights Laws, Adv. Sarode started thinking about providing legal guidance and legal aid to the downtrodden and marginalized classes of Indian society while still in college. During his 14 years of Law Practice, he has established a new concept called 'Socio-Legal Lawyering'.
Every day, he plays multi-dimensional roles including law advocacy, campaigning, lecturing, writing articles on legal issues and providing advice to clients over the phone thereby giving guidance to many people across the state of Maharashtra and beyond. He constantly travels and speaks to various cross sections of society advising them of their Constitutional Rights.
Over time, he has succeeded in motivating other like-minded lawyers to join hands with him to establish a new Initiative called 'Human Rights and Law Defenders' (HRLD). Today, he has became a pioneer in the field of public interest litigation in Maharashtra. His work is geared towards advancing access to justice and upholding the rule of law for every Indian citizen.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
