Who Makes Claypots For Your Bak Kut Teh & Chicken Rice ?

Do you know how  the claypots that you enjoy your bak kut the and chicken rice are made?  This is an extended video exploration at a claypot factory in Ijok, Kuala Selangor that complements an earlier video. Mr Ng is the craftsman of this by-gone and old trade. He has been at it since childhood and his knowledge about his special trade is enlightening indeed. Did you know that the raw clay that these pots are made from have to be thoroughly cleaned, filtered  and water-extracted before it can be used ? Then, each pot is literally hand made like a piece of pottery art. Each of consistent size and design specifications. The last process is the baking, which could take over 48 hours. The end product is an essential item for bak kut the and claypot chicken rice traders. Mr Ng said that he has kept his specifications as consistent as possible and he can recognize his unique "trademark" designs.
