Nanea Reeves
digital architect -- strategist
Machinima, Chief Operations Officer
"We all get so focused on what we're doing that we rarely take the time to stop the noise around us and ask ourselves: What am I doing here? What am I contributing? Do others feel better when I'm around?"
Recognized by Digital Media Wire as one of the "25 Executives to Watch in Digital Media," Nanea began her career in motion pictures and television advertising/marketing. After moving to JAMDAT Mobile, she was responsible for delivering some of the first mobile subscription and direct to consumer mobile services in North America and Europe.
When JAMDAT was purchased by EA Mobile Games, Nanea ran their operations division and was directly responsible for transforming EA's legacy online systems into a highly scalable service layer that is now well deployed across multiple products and platforms.
Nanea then served as the chief product and strategy officer for Gaikai, the cloud services platform company specializing in the delivery of streamed video games, before joining Machinima as chief operating officer. Machinima is a YouTube powerhouse that specializes in videos about videogames and the people that play them. In fact, the site is one of the most important players in the YouTube landscape, and passed the billion-monthly-view mark at the end of last year.
Nanea is very happily married and is actively involved in her husband Victor's non-profit organization KarmaBlast.org that is dedicated to supporting small acts of charity around the world.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
