Matt D'Arrigo, CEO/Founder of A Reason To Survive (ARTS), shares his personal story of using art to survive the challenges in his life. Four words from his 6th grade teacher turned him from feeling like a failure into an artist. D'Arrigo believes removing arts from schools is a widespread form of identity theft. That identity helped get him through simultaneous family cancer crises as a college student. D'Arrigo poured his passion into creating an art center, and just when things were looking bleak, two filmmakers and one of his homeless students found triumph at the Academy Awards©.
