Ronnie Spector was one of the great voices of the 60's, leading her group, The Ronettes, to fame with singles like "Be My Baby". Spector took her surname from her marriage to super-producer Phil Spector, who was responsible for the ubiquitous "wall of sound" production style that was ubiquitous on the radio during the 60's. Sadly, the producer was as paranoid and abusive as he was innovative, and Spector suffered in isolation during their marriage. Later escaping his clutches, Ronnie Spector enjoyed a resurgence and remained active for the rest of her life. These are tragic details about Ronnie Spector.
