Tommy Morrison was born in Arkansas in 1969. He and his two siblings were raised by their mother Diana - and abused by their alcoholic father Tim, who would attack the children with lamps, chairs, and ashtrays. Morrison told ESPN,

"We had to tiptoe across the carpet. Anything that went wrong was our fault. We'd leave the light on in the bathroom, we'd get the sh*t beat out of us."

When Morrison was just 13, his father began entering him in fighting competitions against adults. He knocked out his first opponent. But Morrison was also a tough guy outside the ring, collecting money for mobsters and backing it up with violence.
