Angela and Andrea both teach English at Spokane Community College, where they have worked together in the classroom and in the community, team-teaching several learning community courses and offering guest lectures on topics as varied as the power of food, contemporary gender roles in popular culture, and heroes and villains. Their most recently published, co-written articles, "Tearing Out the Kitchen", analyzes domestic space in the television series Mad Men. In addition to academic endeavors, they share a passion for travel, cooking and binge-watching Netflix original programming.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
