Leah Eichler is an award-winning editor and celebrated columnist. Her weekly Women@Work column takes a fresh look at issues women in Canada and the United States face in the modern day workplace, from lack of representation at the Board of Directors level to the phenomenon of female breadwinners.

Ms. Eichler launched her journalism career in Jerusalem in 1997 before returning to Canada, where she spearheaded Reuters' entry into the digital age. She left Thomson Reuters in 2012 to pursue her dream of creating her own digital media and technology business, called Femme-O-Nomics. Ms. Eichler is regularly interviewed on issues relating to women in the workplace and entrepreneurship. She has appeared as an expert on the issue on CNN, Newstalk 1010 and in multiple spots in the blogosphere.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
