From Iran, a vibrant and rhythmic Kurdish indigenous dance that symbolises solidarity and resistance
Manaweblife was at the 4th International Indigenous Arts Festival held in Selangor on the International Day of World's Indigenous  People on August 4-5th. Tourism Selangor initiated this event in 2015 and this year the event was held at the Shah Alam National Botanical Park with participants from various indigenous tribes from all over the world. They showcase their arts and culture through traditional attires, dance, food and artifacts. It is an enlightening event for all to learn more about these indigenous tribes. This video captures some of the performances that were seen throughout the two day event. Amongst these is the Central Suluwesi dance that chronicles the power of the bamboo and rice stalk made scare crows that help keep the birds and rats away from their rice fields during the padi harvest season.
