In the TOEFL reading section, you have to be careful. It's easy to choose a wrong answer because the TOEFL makers try to trick you. One way they might trick you is to include an unnecessary adverb that will change the meaning of the whole sentence.

However, there's one little trick you can use that will help you improve your TOEFL reading score by 3 points. You have to stop choosing answers and, instead eliminate choices. When you eliminate choices you improve the likelihood of being correct.

If you have 4 choices, you have a 25% chance of being correct, but 3 choices is a 33% and 2 choices is a 50% chance. You want to eliminate and improve the odds of being correct for each TOEFL reading.
