In breaking news, Sri Lanka says a local Islamist group with possible international ties is to blame for the bombings that killed almost 300 people at churches and hotels on Easter Sunday. Intelligence chiefs warned members of the government two week ago that the new group, "National Thowheeth Jama'ath," was planning attacks and even passed on the names of suspects. Now investigators are scrambling to determine whether they received help from international terrorist groups. Earlier, army specialists detonated what appeared to be another explosive device in the capital Colombo. The government has granted the military sweeping emergency powers, as the country struggles to come to grips with the aftermath of Sunday's attacks. The bombings have left families in grief and shock as around the country.
