If your child falls asleep in their car seat, are you in violation of the law or is their safety at risk? The answer is YES indeed if the belt is in the wrong place. With infants and younger children, their 5-point harness usually does not shift. But with kids in a booster seat, the belt can move or the child can change position. Having the back on a booster is both a comfort and a safety feature.
