If possible you should install any car seat into the middle seat of your car which is the safest spot in the event of an accident. Rear facing car seats usually have a base which makes installation a bit easier. Make sure to push the base down in order to remove as much slack from the belt as possible. The rear facing car seat should not move more than an inch. Next put the seat into the base to make sure the angle is good. The level indication will tell you the angle. Newborns need to ride at a 30-45 degree angle to protect the neck.
