Rebecca is the 2008 recipient of the Lillian and Paul Petri Foreign Music Study Award from the Benton County Foundation. Growing up in Dallas, Oregon she started her performance career winning the 'Young Artists Live' Competition in Portland. In the same year, she was awarded a spot at the San Francisco Girl's Chorus Opera Training Program with Blanche Thebom. She received her B.A. in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music where she was honored as 'Outstanding Vocal Student' for her work in the Otto B. Schoepfle Vocal Arts Center. Rebecca then moved to Europe where she was based for over ten years. She sang at the famous Concertgebouw and opera festivals in Holland, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Slovakia. Her teachers include Kammersängerinnen Christa Ludwig, Hilde Zadek, Jean-Ronald LaFond, and Professor Konrad Leitner at the University of Vienna. An M.Ed student at Willamette University, Rebecca is the founder of Dallas-based Opera Organically.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
