What is a Nanny? What makes a Nanny and why do we let Nannies get so close to our families without requiring any formal credentials?

As a former high school 9th grade English teacher, Helen Adeosun is excited about ways to drive learning in her classroom and how to better serve her students. She firmly believes that nannies and caregivers have the power to grow communities and formed SitterCycle to improve that experience.

Helen is a member of the International Nanny Association, Massachusetts Association of Professional Nannies,a former member of the DC Childcare Collective, and a member of the National Association for the Education Young Children. Helen holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and an EdM. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
