More than 140 people have been killed in severe monsoon floods and landslides across western and southern India. The rains have forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes. The states worst-hit by the monsoon are Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala. Kerala already suffered its worst-ever flooding last year, which killed more than 200 people and displaced thousands more.
