This 13 years old grandma lioness will do anything for her hungry cubs, including fight a young leopard for his spoil. In the heart of the Zambian bush is a unique and special place. A beautiful valley, bursting with life. It is home to a rich and diverse array of wildlife and is one of the last remaining strongholds for some of Africa's most endangered large carnivores.
Poaching is threatening wildlife conservation in Africa. Please consider making a donation to the US registered non-profit Zambian Carnivore Programme [501(c)3: #46-5506153] and become one of the guardians for Africa's majestic wildlife. Donate here: http://bit.ly/37uDOrR
Where meat poaching occurs, wire snaring is a popular method. The snares can inflict significant injuries and mortality on a variety of species, including lions and hyenas. The Zambian Carnivore Programme (ZCP) is a Zambian-registered non-profit organization dedicated to conserving large carnivores and the ecosystems they reside in through a combination of conservation science, conservation actions, and comprehensive education and capacity-building effort.

If you can donate:
- $50 can support an anti-snaring day patrol and $200 for a 10-day patrol.
- $500 could fund two hours of aerial tracking and surveillance, fuel for field vehicles for a month, a telemetry antenna for tracking, two GPS units for navigating
- $2000 could fund (almost) a satellite/GPS collar to keep track of a clan and direct anti-poaching patrols to it (don’t currently do that but in Luangwa we could), would fund immobilization drugs for de-snaring for most of a season, would fund nearly 8 hours of aerial tracking and surveillance
- $5000 would pay for fuel for a quarter of a year for a project, would fund a new engine for a land rover, would cover the costs of trainee programs for much of a season, would buy a new motorbike (almost) for liuwa
- $10000 would cover vehicle spares for a fleet of 4-6 land rovers on the project for most of the season, would buy nearly two motorbikes, would cover vet costs for several months, would cover vehicle costs for several months, would cover 4-5 hyena collars
