Light For Life equips livestock bomas around the edges of Kenya's protected wildlife areas with a solar powered flashing light system. The flashing lights at night deter predators from entering the bomas and attacking the livestock. This predator deterrent system has proven to be extremely succesful: Over 150 systems installed and NOT ONE BREACH to date!
No attacks from predators such as lion, leopard, and hyena means no retaliation from the communities both predators and livestock such as cattle, sheep, and goats remain safe and the people of the communities live without the constant fear of losing their herds.
Each system costs $350, a small price to pay to prevent human/wildlife conflict.
