A Stroll Through JB's Amazing Culture Street
JB, at the southern tip of Peninsular Malaysia and just a causeway from Singapore, is taking everyone by storm. It's not the tsunami but a wave of hipster culture that is evident along Jalan Wong Ah Fok, Jalan Dhoby, Jaln Ungku Puan, Jalan Ibrahim and Jalan Tan Hiok Kee. Quaint, arty and cool places abound at every turn and corner. Not just cafes and bistros but a whole lot of cultural bits and attractions from local food, colourful traditional delicacies and interesting expressive  wall art to art galleries. This transformation has taken place over the last 3-4 yrs and has made this old colonial heritage area into a brand new hipster place. Come take a slow stroll through these streets and you will be amazed by the cool culture. You can even find an old-time bakery with its classic oven still functioning. It would take probably a couple of days for you to really absorb all the streets' ambience and aura, so come prepared !
