Innovating the Arts: Ismael Sequeira at TEDxSãoTomé

He began painting at a young age, at only 13 years of age, taking part of an exhibition commemorating the anniversary of the independence of the country. In 1982 he met Pina Protásio and Cesaltino da Fonseca, exponents of art in Sao Tome and Principe at the time. Influenced by Protásio Pina, he began painting in oil. Later, he worked with Korean masters in painting scenery and frame assembly for human entertainment and outdoor games.In addition to his resume of solo exhibitions held in the country he has participated in many exhibitions abroad. Collaborated on several cultural projects, in partnership with several organizations in Sao Tome. Based in Portugal, Ismael works in the fine arts, museology research and development of multimedia products. He is a founder of Platform Cafuka, a cultural association that has its main objective to generate an artistic movement able to influence across all creative disciplines in Sao Tome, Portugal, and the Lusophone world.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
