In Hong Kong, a court has found nine pro-democracy activists guilty on charges of incitement and conspiracy to cause a public nuisance.
They were charged in connection with the 2014 "Umbrella protests", so named for the yellow umbrellas carried by activists to shield themselves from tear gas. The mass rallies held over a period of several weeks called for greater autonomy from China.
