Serdang's morning market has a stall that has been around for two generations and serves only one specialty : good old Hakka Nasi Lemak. For this community of mainly Hakka folks this stall is a must stop over to catch or pack a plate of the nasi lemak prepared by Madam Lai. There is usually  a supplementary dish besides the usual nasi lemak ingredients that you can request. This is the traditional Hakka 'char yoke' fried pork marinated with a mix of  aromatic spices. This house specialty is a favourite amongst generations of Hakkas. The stall operators start their day as early as 1:30 am to prepare their food fresh everyday. By 5 am they are ready to serve the early birds at the busy market. Drop by as early as you can because by 11 am the servings are sold out usually. If you crave for good old traditional style nasi lemak with a Hakka touch this is the stall to look for at the Serdang market. Truly authentic and probably a last of its kind miles away.
