China is increasing the pressure on Canada. detaining a second Canadian businessman. Chinese state media say Michael Spavor, a businessman with strong ties to North Korea, is being accused of threatening Chinese national interests. It's the second arrest of a Canadian citizen after Beijing detained former diplomat Michael Kovrig. The two arrests appear to be retaliation after Canadian police detained of Meng Wanzhou, a Chinese executive from phonemaker Huawei, at the behest of US authorithies. Meng has been freed on bail, but remains under house arrest in Canada.
