What Foreign Cars are Made in America? What American Cars are Built in China, Mexico, and Canada?

Here are some surprise cars that are made in America.

Toyota – Japanese automaker Toyota understands that Americans want local jobs and local production and they build many of the most popular vehicles in the south. The 2019 Toyota Tundra is assembled in the heart of truck country: San Antonio, Texas. Located in Kentucky, Toyota makes the bestselling Camry along with the Avalon and Lexus ES. A Toyota factory in Indiana builds the Highlander, Sequoia, and Sienna minivan.

Subaru – With a factory in Lafayette Indiana; Subaru makes the Impreza, Legacy, Outback, and the new 3-row SUV called the Ascent.

Honda – Honda makes the Civic and CR-V in Indiana. A total of 12 vehicles are made at the facilities in Alabama and Ohio.

Hyundai/Kia – Factories located in Georgia and Alabama that make 5 vehicles and are soon to include the new Telluride.

Nissan and Volkswagen also have manufacturing in the U.S.

But what about luxury brands? Well BMW is the largest luxury exporter out of the U.S. to foreign countries. This is thanks to the plant in South Carolina. BMW has officially sold cars in the U.S. since 1956.

Mercedes-Benz has plants in Alabama and Volvo is shipping the new S60 to Europe out of the South Carolina plant.
