An artist creates a lipstick sculpture from used tubes.

An artist has meshed beauty and used product in a stunning work of art. Simply called "Giant Lipstick", the female artist has created a sculpture containing over 5,000 used tubes of lipstick.

Measuring over 8 feet high and weighing more than 440 pounds, the small containers are strategically placed and lined up to form one giant red lipstick.

The artist states "Four tubes of rouge are sold every second in the world, and considering the amount of packaging left which cannot be recycled, so I wanted to create something which triggered our society to think more seriously about consumerism and the types of products they are purchasing, and bring attention towards the need to reduce waste."

Each lipstick case points outward from the structural base. Some contain fresh product and others are empty or capped. The resulting visual is of a giant tube of lip color including the base, the cylinder, and bright red cosmetic.

The installation brings awareness to the drastic need for recycling in the beauty industry.
