On this episode of AMC Movie Talk (Tuesday May 12h 2015) we do an all viewer questions show! We take the following viewer emails:
Ali Makaveli writes: I want to watch Mad Max but recently heard there 3 prequels. do I NEED to watch them in order for me to understand this new Mad Max film?
Jeffrey Walizer jr writes: Hey guys, Love the show. My question is simple, do you think Mad Max will beat Avengers (Age of Ultron) @ the box office this weekend?
Kuldeep Badoniya writes: Henry Cavill mentioned that Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice would not be a sequel to Man of Steel but from the trailer that was released, it seemed apparent that the destruction issue with Man of Steel would be addressed in the movie. Also, though this is a far fetched idea but could it be possible that DC could set up the cinematic universe as earth prime and the arrow and flash universe exist on some other earth. Later on (probably DC Phase II), these two might coincide and the characters from both the earths could meet due to some time space disturbance. Thank you and bring on the filthy!
Tech Guru writes: Do you think movies should have pricing levels for the quality of movie they are for example I might have gone to see paul bart mall cop if it was like 3 or 4$ to go see instead of 10-12$ with this strategy movies that didn't do well at the box office might have done better they could do surveys before a movie comes out to see what people think of the movie and what they think the movie would be worth to go see.
Zeshan Qureshi writes: I love your show and listen to it daily before going go bed and have never missed an episode since 7 months. I have a question that Inception was such a big critical and commercial success and so many people loved it but why hasn't there been any sequel to it? If Chris Nolan isn't interested in making a sequel then why isn't the studio pursuing him to make one? Thank you and keep up the great work.
Kenneth Kolton writes: Hail Movietalkers. My question is about JJ Abrams and the pressure he has on himself to deliver not only a good Star Wars film but also please many fans ( most of the AMC crew included ) who disliked the prequels and also may be worried about how this film will turn out. Do you think the expectations are at insane levels or are people underestimating Abrams work?
Johannes Klan writes: I discovered your awesome show about 2 month ago and watch it daily since. My question is about movie titles and the changing of them. Till the mid-2000th in Germany most of the original movie titles were translated to German. But since then, studios seem to trust german viewers to understand english titles and keep them in the original language. What confuses me a bit, is that they change many movie titles nonetheless from the original english title, to a different english title, for example "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" was changed to "Captain America: The Return of the First Avenger", or the upcoming "Tomorrowland", which will be released as "A World Beyond". If you stay in the original language, why not keep the original title? What do you think?
Chancey Plagman writes: Hey AMC Movie Talk! I've been watching for over 2 years now and watching your show is a great stress reliever! As a comic book movie fan, I'm looking ahead and seeing that in July 2018 we have the following: July 6th: Black Panther, July 13th: Untitled Fox/Marvel Film, July 20th: Sony's animated Spider-Man film, and July 27th: Aquaman. Would you consider this overdoing it, to have four big films back to back to back to back?
