JURASSIC WORLD Destroys All Box Office Expectations - AMC Movie News

The results for the weekend box office are in and it was a monstrous putting for the new Universal film JURASSIC WORLD. The 4th installment in the Jurassic Park franchise destroyed all expectations and came in with the second biggest opening weekend in film history. The film took in over $204 million this weekend, eclipsing the $191 million made by AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and just falling short of the $207 million made by the first AVENGERS film. In second spot is the Melissa McCarthy comedy SPY making $16 million. In 3rd spot is Dwayne Johnson’s SAN ANDREAS making just over $11 million brining its 3 week total up to $119 million and over $300 million world wide. In 4th spot is the horror film INSIDIOUS CHAPTER 3 making $7.3 million, and rounding out the top 5 is PITCH PERFECT 2 brining in $6 million for a domestic total of over $170 million.
