On this episode of AMC Mail Bag (Sunday October 5th 2014) we take the following viewer emails:
Lorena Sanchez writes: Thank you so much for the Gone Girl review you did. Love that movie! But another big film this weekend is Annabelle. Did you have a chance to see it? It is worth getting tickets for? A little review would be great!
Ryan Powless writes: Hey Amc love the show and been watching for a year and a half. With no actor announced to play Dr. Strange yet could they be saving the reveal for an end credit scene for Avengers 2? Honestly I think that would be the best way to announce it. Thanks for taking my question and bring on that filthy!
Pedro Ordonez writes: Hey everybody, you guys are doing a marvelous job! Keep up the great work! Now me and my friend were on the phone talking about the difference between Sequels and Trilogy's. He says that the films within a Trilogy are not considered Sequels because they are telling a continues story with 3 films, but my argument is, if they are all continuations from one another, then aren't they still considered Sequels regardless if they are in a Trilogy or not?
David F. writes: This question is more for John specifically: With all of the new content you are working on at AMC like Independent and the Star Wars show, will you still have time to do your after shows? I really enjoy your Arrow and Sleepy Hollow after shows and was wondering if your increased workload meant that you won't have time for them anymore.. I'd understand if you couldn't, you must be busy. But I would miss them. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Adrian writes: Hey john love the show been watching since the original february 2013 :) so you answered a question on a mortal kombat reboot yesterday and i started thinking wouldn't it be another risk to the video game adaptation films? Theres no way it could be pg-13 but the game doesnt have much of a young audience anyway its sales still sell from 16- 43 so do you think it'll benefit being rated R?
Hunter Helms writes: Yo AMC! I was wondering about Star Wars Episodes five and six and their directors. I know it's unknown that Irvin Kershner did episode five and Richard Marquand did six, but I was wondering what ever happened to those guys. Why weren't they praised for making two of the greatest movies ever. Were they just simply overshadowed by George Lucas or did they choose not to take the spotlight.
Chris Covarrubias writes: Hello movie talkers love the show, a little to much that my wife gets mad when I'm watching hehe. My question is, would we need to have a thanos origins movie for those who aren't so familiar with the character? Thanx and bring on the filthy
Chanel Bankhead writes: I enjoy your show and AMC Independent. I watch everyday *looks around* even while at work. My question is about Marvel. Marvel has the 7 movie contract in lieu of Robert Downey Jr renegotiating his deal, but it’s now rumored to one of the reasons for Joaquin Phoenix bowing out of Dr Strange. Going forward do you think Marvel needs to readjust their contract parameters in order to land the talent they want?
