The US has now officially pulled out of the Cold War era INF treaty with Russia. Washington claims a new Russian cruise missile violates the pact. Washington says it will formally notify Moscow later today that the US is withdrawing from a key arms control treaty. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the decision on Friday, saying the US will suspend its compliance with the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty. It will then withdraw completely from the accord in six months if Moscow does not end alleged violations of the pact.
