Lindsey Cook hasn't always considered herself a feminist. It was only after receiving a grant to research the retention of women in computer science that she realized something important -- feminism isn't radical. Now, Lindsey envisions a gender equality movement designed for a new generation of women, one that works to eliminate the confidence gap and emphasizes the value of you just being you; she calls it "you do you" feminism.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
