In 2006, journalist Gary Wolf coined the term “New Atheists” to describe a movement of nonbelievers united by what they believe are rational, anti-religion claims. New Atheists like Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins believe that religion threatens progress and ultimately breeds conflict. They also believe that if religion were eliminated, many of the world's problems would disappear.
