Rebekah Campbell is the founder and CEO of Posse, a mobile social network connecting customers and retailers.
Since founding the company in Sydney in 2010, she has raised more than $4M in funding, built a technology team and launched the product in several countries. A lifelong entrepreneur, she started her first business at age 7 selling flowers outside her family house. Prior to founding Posse, she built 'Scorpio Music,' one of Australia's most successful music management companies with offices in Sydney, London and New York. Rebekah is passionate about inspiring other entrepreneurs and giving back to the community. She writes a weekly column for The New York Times about her entrepreneurial journey and regular articles for BRW and StartupSmart. Rebekah is a mentor for Club Kidpreneur (teaching 8 -- 12 year-olds to start businesses) and is a Director on the Board of Chapel By The Sea -- a large community organisation that runs a homeless centre, two kindergartens and much more at Bondi Beach.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
