All of a sudden, activists are everywhere; they're in the media, they're using Twitter, they're toppling governments! Daniel's talk will cut through the hype, and focus on what defines activist thinking, and how we all can and should think like activists in our everyday lives.

Daniel has been connecting big ideas with even larger audiences around the world for many years. Most recently he's done so as the Founder & CEO of his communications and innovation agency, Global Natives, on projects ranging from advancing the future of cities to demystifying meditation in the west, growing the online world of Harry Potter to building a counter-extremism movement in Pakistan.

Having previously held senior positions in technology, activism, media, international development, and diplomacy, Daniel has a behind the scenes, actionable and operational understanding of what it takes to affect and instigate change in today's world.

Daniel is a member of the Sandbox network and the UK Government's Global Entrepreneur Programme, a past recipient of the U.S. Congressional Medal of Merit, and absolutely hopeless at karaoke in all forms.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
