Italy's elections in March did little to calm the country's volatile politics and the anti-immigration party the League and the populist Five Star Movement formed a coalition government. The hardline rhetoric of the League's leader, Matteo Salvini, is winning them headlines and increased support among Italians in the polls. But where does this leave the Five Star Movement, the senior partner in the coalition? Is the populist, anti-establishment party offering an alternative in Europe where the divide is deepening between a nationalist bloc led by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and vocal pro-Europeans, led by French President Emmanuel Macron? Where are the allegiances of the Five Star?
