In the early 19th century Chinese immigrant workers erected homes on stilts along the Penang coastline. These became the Clan Jetties of Penang.Today these jetties are a living heritage and have become a favorite attraction and destination. Amongst the most prominent is the Chew Jetty. Nowadays ,besides souvenir and food stalls, here are exquisite venues for special occasions such as weddings. Hence, adding a touch of romance to the cosy, historical landmark of Penang.
