( ) The New M3 and M4 promise to be the new line of quintessential BMW sports cars. Watch them being unveiled along with their 2 series cousin at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

The 2014 BMW M235i was rolled out alongside the BMW M3 and BMW M4 at the 2014 NAIAS. All three vehicles benefited from a convoluted pre-unveiling skit that had a race crew and umbrella girls chanting a pre-race cheer. They up and vanished with no explanation as to what they were doing before the press event got rolling.

At least the cars were cool.

At $43,100, the BMW M235i is loaded with a 322 horespower, turbocharged straight six-cylinder engine that makes 332 lbs-feet of torque. According to BMW, it can go 0 to 62 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds (with the eight-speed automatic). A six speed manual is available too.
