The US has requested the right to seize an Iranian oil tanker detained by Gibraltar in July. Gibraltar's Supreme Court was supposed to decide whether to release the ship, but that ruling has now been delayed. Gibraltar police and British marines captured the vessel, the Grace One, at the beginning of July. It was suspected of bringing Iranian oil to Syria, which would violate EU and US sanctions. This has all come as the EU is scrambling to save the nuclear agreement with Iran after the US unilaterally withdrew from the deal last year.
