Democrats have seized control of the House of Representatives, while Republicans have defended their majority in the Senate. Although the blue wave Democrats had hoped for did not fully materialize, the face of US politics is changing. Here are some of the fist reactions in light of the final results of the US midterm elections 2018.
Nanci Pelosi pledges a congress that works for the people and strives for bipartanship.
Republican Senator Ted Cruz has fended off his well-funded Democratic challenger, Beto O'Rourke. In his victory speech, Cruz declared, "All the money in the world was no match for the good people of Texas."
