Would removing old dry sealant have caused the issue?

09:24 - I have a 2014 Canyon Spectral with 2014 FOX 32 Talas forks. Can I get away with putting new technologies in it?

10:57 - Want to get a Saracen Ariel 80 pro but 180 travel is a tad too much for me, would lowering the travel evenly front and rear affect the geometry badly? (I chose this bike cuz I love the green it comes in)
