The world is changing. Rapidly. And in ways that are having -- and will continue to have -- increasingly significant impacts on how we define and engage in the work of preparing our young people for the future that awaits them. Bryan will provide an overview of key trends in education and the opportunity they present to fundamentally transform our education system -- to rethink the structure and purpose of the factory model of schooling that we've perpetuated for more than a hundred years to yield a robust, connected learning ecosystem.

Bryan is a Partner at 2 Revolutions, an education design lab committed to designing and launching future of learning models. His portfolio includes some of the most groundbreaking and innovative educators in the country at the state, foundation, school district, and organization levels. A curiosity creator and architect of America's "digerati" movement in public education, Bryan revitalized and transformed the North Carolina Virtual School into a national model for e-learning serving over 50,000 students annually. As Chief Quality Officer, his school district was recognized as a Malcolm Baldrige National Award Winner and a national best practice staff development site by the American Productivity and Quality Council.  Bryan has served on numerous national reform efforts including the National Digital Learning Council, the INACOL State Leadership Team, NC Education Cloud Team, and the State Virtual Leaders Alliance. He has been appointed by three separate Governors in North Carolina to the E-learning and School Technology Commissions. In addition to these accomplishments, Bryan has served at every level of k-12 education as an award winning teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
