This, That, These, Those: Improve your English with Demonstrative Pronouns! / 指示代名詞を使って貴方の英語を上達させる

This is a Pen! That is a duck. These are rackets. Those are balls. Do you know the differences between ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’, and ‘those’? In today’s lesson you will improve your English by learning how to use the demonstratives: this, that, these and those. This English grammar lesson includes detailed explanations with several example sentences as well as TH pronunciation tips.

This or That:
This and That are both used for singular nouns, when there is only one of something. This is used for something that is close to you. That is used for something that is far from you.

These or Those:
These and Those are both used for plural nouns, when there is more than one of something. These is used for things that are close to you. Those is used for things that are far from you.

TH Pronunciation:
Make sure you feel a vibration in your throat. When you pronounce the TH at the beginning of this, that, these, and those, your tongue should be strong. It will hit your top teeth as you stick it out slightly. Practice makes perfect.
