Despite the power and prestige that the British royal family has, none of that is able to protect them from an untimely death. Disease, accidents, and murder (at least in olden times) were all strong possibilities if you were lucky enough to be born within spitting distance of the crown. In the many centuries in which British royalty were in existence, there were dozens of "accidents," premature deaths, and some good old-fashioned betrayal. Some of these were obviously more tragic than others when you look at how it happened and who it happened to. These British royal family deaths were the most tragic.
