Fats Domino was one of the true originators of rock n' roll music. And though his music was a sensation and he toured the world for decades, today you might not know that much about the musical pioneer. Perhaps surprising for those who've heard the name but don't know the music, Fats Domino died recently — in 2017 at the age of 89. During his long and storied career, Domino lived through the birth of rock music, segregation and desegregation, and eventually the horrors of Hurricane Katrina in his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana.
