Rock in the early ‘90s was changing. As new wave and glam metal headed out of style, grunge and alternative moved in. In England, there was Britpop, and at the head of that movement there was Oasis. Formed in 1991 under the name Rain by Liam Gallagher, Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan, and Tony McCarroll, it wasn’t until Liam’s older brother Noel joined that the group truly found its voice, its style, and its success.
Although Oasis would go on to become one of the biggest bands of the decade, it was the rocky relationship between members — particularly Liam and Noel — that emerged as their most famous trait and would ultimately lead to their downfall. This is the untold truth of Oasis.
