The so-called "Winter War" between the Soviet Union and Finland is one of the more obscure chapters in World War II history, lasting just over three months. The USSR had 6,000 tanks and 3,000 airplanes, while Finland had just a few tanks and only 100 planes. However, the USSR had underestimated the smaller nation.
