This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Although she was very organized, after a tumor was found in her body, Marissa Blankenship had to take a step back and think about the interim. In this talk, Marissa talks about living in the interim and how that unites us all.

Marissa Blankenship is a sophomore studying psychology and sociology at The Ohio State University.

As a student staff member at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's Nisonger Center Transition Services Department, Marissa is able to pursue her passion for special education and student support services through the development of student programs.

Marissa is also a research assistant in the Development, Language, and Cognition Laboratory where she furthers her love for education through language acquisition research with the Psychology Department and COSI Columbus. Additionally, Marissa is a proud member of both Student-Alumni Council and Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
