Jeffrey McMurtrie went on his first Algonquin canoe trip at the age of 8 and has loved it ever since, now having spent more than 500 days travelling its lakes and rivers. After planning his own trips in 2004 he quickly realized that existing maps weren't quite
what he was looking for -- so he set out to create his own.
The result of thousands of hours of work, Jeffrey combined all of the information on the park that he could find -- books, historic maps, trip logs, personal experience, and the contributions of hundreds of other Algonquinites -- to make the most comprehensive map possible.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
