The box office results are in and it was a good weekend for Liam Neeson. The actor’s new movie, TAKEN 3 took top spot at the box office making over $40 million on its opening weekend. In the #2 spot is the Martin Luther King film SELMA making $11.2 million. In 3rd was the Disney film INTO THE WOODS adding another $9.7 million to its total bringing it to over $105 million domestically in 3 weeks. In 4th is THE HOBBIT: BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES making $9.4 million brining its domestic total to over $236 million and its world wide total to $781 million in its 4th week of release. Rounding out the top five is the Angelina Jolie directed film UNBROKEN making $8.3 million and breaking the $100 million dollar mark in its domestic run in its 3rd week.
